PUBLIC NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Baraga County Early Voting Receiving Board for the February 27, 2024, Presidential Primary Election has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. at the L’Anse Township Hall, 126 N. Main Street, L’Anse, MI 49946 for the purpose of canvassing early votes for all precincts in the municipalities listed below:

The L’Anse Township Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) will hold a regular meeting on Monday, December 11, at 6:00 pm at the L’Anse Township Hall.
Open office hours for tax collection
The Township office will be open for tax collection on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-1pm.
You may also use the secure drop box located outside of the Township Hall 24 hours-a-day.

Accessible beach access now available at Second Sand Beach!
Wheelchair van parking, accessible porta potty, beach access pathway, and picnic area are now available at Second Sand Beach.
Weekly Beach Monitoring
Water quality will by checked weekly at Second Sand Beach. Results will be available weekly at www.egle.state.mi.us/beach/ or www.wupdhd.org/beach-monitoring/
In the event of an advisory or closure due to unsafe bacteria levels, signs will be clearly posted at the beach.

Notice of Public Budget Hearing
The L’Anse Township Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed township budget for fiscal year 2023-2024 on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 3:00 pm at the L’Anse Township Hall, 126 N. Main Street.
*The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing.
A copy of the budget is available for public inspection at the L’Anse Township Office, during open office hours.
This notice is posted in compliance with PA 267 of 1976 as amended (Open Meetings Act) MCLA 41.721 (2) (3) and the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).
The L’Anse Township Board will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services such as signers for hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting to individuals with disabilities at the meeting upon three (3) days notice to the L’Anse Township Board.
